In Memory of Jeanne Marchant

Jeanne Ann Marchant, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 14, 2025, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born on July 12, 1950, in Portland, Maine, to Francis and Ellen Connolly. Jeanne was the cherished wife of Paul A. Marchant and a devoted mother to her three children: Paul C. (Chris) Marchant along with his wife, Mollie of Leesburg, Virginia, David M. Marchant, along with his wife, Jasmine, of Charlotte, North Carolina and Sara Hampel, along with her husband, Kevin, of Nolensville, Tennessee. She was also the proud grandmother of Christian and Brooklyn Marchant, Connor and Luke Marchant and Ethan, Jack, Charlie and Reid Hampel. Over the years she lived in many places - starting in Portland, Maine, she then lived in Chicago, IL, Claymont, DE, Buckingham, PA, Purcellville, VA, Kalispell, MT, Republic, MO, Richmond, VA, Land O' Lakes, FL, Georgetown, TX, Seven Lakes, NC, and most recently Myrtle Beach, SC. The many dear friends she made through her kindness made those places home. Jeanne found joy in sewing, knitting, and reading. She spent countless hours immersed in her favorite jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Jeanne had a deep love for the ocean and cherished her time on the beach or out on the water, especially with her grandchildren. Jeanne’s legacy of kindness and love will live on in her family, which includes her siblings: Dennis (Nedra) Connolly, Cathy Mountford, Mark Connolly, Mary (Paul) Saucier, and Julie Emery. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Lee Connolly and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Connolly, as well as her brothers-in-law, Michael Mountford and Bruce Emery. A Celebration of Life Mass in Jeanne's honor will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, located at 380 Academy Road, Newcastle, Maine, on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with a burial service to follow at the church cemetery. Jeanne Ann Marchant will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her spirit, creativity, and unwavering love for her family will remain in our hearts forever.
