In Memory of Rickey Martin
08/03/1990 - 12/19/2024 from Coventry
In Loving Memory of Rickey (Adiga) Martin 19th December 2024 Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to our beloved Rickey (Adiga) Martin—our son, a brother, a grandchild. From the day Rickey was born, we knew his path in life would not be easy. Living with a disability meant that many things others take for granted were a struggle. But through every challenge, every setback, every long day—he faced it all with quiet strength, and we faced it with him, as a family. There were hard times, yes. But there were also moments of light—moments of laughter, of connection, of simple joys that will stay with us forever. Rickey taught us what it means to love unconditionally, to fight through the pain, and to find beauty in the small things. Andrew Martin—his stepfather in name, but his dad in every way that mattered. The love between them ran deep, steady and true. And his bond with his mother, Sadia, was something sacred. She was his constant—his comfort, his voice, his shelter. Rickey shared a special bond with his brother, Nashir Adiga. Some of his happiest moments were spent by Nashir’s side—exploring the coast in search of fossils, carefully turning over stones with curiosity and wonder in his eyes. He also loved watching football with his dad—following Plymouth Argyle through thick and thin. For Rickey, it wasn’t just about the game—it was about being together, side by side, sharing that tradition with the people he loved. He also found joy in our family holidays to Weston-super-Mare and seeing my mother who lived in Paignton, where the sea, the sky, and the slow pace of the coast brought comfort to you pain. Rickey passed away peacefully on the 19th of December, 2024, with his loved ones around him. Though we knew this day would come, it doesn’t make the loss any easier. The space he leaves behind is vast and quiet. His ashes were spread on 28th June 2025 on Paignton Beach, surrounded by his mother, father, brother, and grandmother Sheema Adiga—a place he loved, held by those who love him still. We remember you with love, Rickey, and with deep gratitude that we got to walk this life with you. You were brave, Rickey. You were kind. You were loved beyond words. And you always will be. Love, Mum and Dad
