09/20/1970 - 03/14/2025 from South Bend, Indiana
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David A. Henderson on March 14, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born on September 20, 1970, in South Bend, Indiana, Dave lived a life filled with dedication, creativity, humor, and an unwavering love for family. From an early age, Dave showed a passion for hands-on work and problem-solving. He found joy in working on cars and roofing—pursuits that not only showcased his skill but also his determination and pride in a job well done. Whether under the hood of a car or atop a roof under the sun, Dave brought energy and laughter to every task he undertook. Beyond his talents and work ethic, it was Dave’s warmth and humor that truly defined him. His ability to make others laugh and feel at ease left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Time spent with Dave was always memorable—filled with stories, jokes, and heartfelt moments that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dave treasured time with family and friends above all else. He is survived by his son Cale and his girlfriend Susan. He also leaves behind his loving sisters Kim (Stevie), Suzi (Todd), and Maggie; brothers Truman (Cherie), Jim, John, and Charlie; his lifelong best friend Dewey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many dear friends who became like family over the years. He now joins those who passed before him: his mother Sue; brothers Dean, Bobby, Tom, and Mike; sister Beth; and nephew Daniel. Their memories remained close to Dave’s heart throughout his life—and now they are reunited in peace. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 27th at 12:00 PM at Desoto Veterans Memorial Park, located at 2195 American Legion Dr., Arcadia, Florida 34251. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable man whose presence brought light to so many lives. Dave's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted soul who loved to make people laugh and feel good. His absence leaves a deep void—but his memory brings comfort and joy that will endure for generations to come.
