Dorothy Colleen "Dottie" Kahhan (née Townsend), born on February 20, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dottie's life was marked by compassion, dedication, friendships, and a steadfast commitment to her faith and profession. A proud graduate of George Washington High School in Philadelphia, she continued her education at Pierce Junior College, receiving an Associate in Science Degree majoring in Business before pursuing her calling in nursing. She earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from Camden Vocational and Technical Schools in New Jersey and later advanced her credentials through the Regents External Degree Program at The University of the State of New York, earning an Associate in Science Degree to become a Registered Nurse (RN). Throughout her career, Dottie served as an ICU/CCU nurse, providing critical care with skill and empathy. Her work touched countless lives during moments of vulnerability and need. Her dedication to the field of nursing reflected not only professional excellence but also a deep sense of purpose and compassion. Dottie had a keen interest in genealogy, dedicating time to exploring family history and preserving the stories of thousands of family members who came before her. This passion reflected her appreciation for legacy and connection across generations. A devout Christian, Dottie held firm in her belief in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and brought her comfort and strength during challenging times. Beloved wife of Larry, her husband of 51 years, she is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Kimberly Lorraine Pierce and Barbara Ann Terrell, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dottie was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Clark Townsend, and her mother, Dorothy Pauline Townsend (née Stuetz).
