Leslie Arluck, 62 Physical Therapist, Animal Rights Advocate Leslie Arluck of Staten Island NY passed away on September 10, 2023 after a long battle with metastatic cancer. Leslie was born on June 29, 1961 in Brooklyn NY to William Arluck and Ruth Levy, the third of five children. After graduating from Canarsie High School and Brooklyn College, Leslie graduated from Boston University with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Leslie worked as a pediatric physical therapist in the NYC school system for 25 years. She retired recently due to her illness. Leslie was predeceased by her parents and by her brother Kenneth Arluck. She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law Randi and Bob McGann and Carrie and Mark Knight, her brother Robert Arluck, nephews Daniel Cappadora, Franklin Cappadora, Travis Knight, Lucas Knight, her niece Jacqueline Cappadora and her great-niece Maia Jane Whitledge. Leslie was an animal lover; her true passion being animal rescue. She had too many pets to count and was involved in animal rescue for many years. Leslie was affectionately called Aunt LuLu by her niece and nephews to whom she was extremely close and whom she adored. Leslie made friends easily, making friends from all over the world. She loved to travel, she loved theater and she had a special affinity for game shows. Leslie wanted to be a contestant on the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire show so badly, she auditioned over 20 times! Mostly Leslie loved making people laugh by telling jokes and stories. She pursued stand-up comedy for a brief time and performed at Pips in Sheepshead Bay and Stand Up New York in NYC. According to her sister Randi “Even from her hospital bed, she made all of us laugh and feel good about life, one of her many truly amazing and unique attributes.” A celebration of Leslie’s life will be held on Saturday, October 7th at 2PM.
