Janet passed away on April 8, 2023 at the age of 44 after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She grew up in Citrus Heights and eventually settled in Rocklin. Janet loved her family more than anything, always putting them first, even through years of chemotherapy, operations and hospital stays. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, herb gardening, police forensics, sports, pets and traveling - especially to Maui, Hawaii. Janet is survived by her loving husband Eric, and her adoring daughters Alexis Pereira and Gabriella Bates. She was preceded in death by her brother Jack Boerner. Janet is also survived by her mother Dow Shykowski; father Michael Boerner; brothers Guy Boerner, Jerry Boerner and his wife Nai, Thomas Boerner and his wife Dejanelle; sister Bandy Melrose and her husband Chris; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on May 5, 2023 at 10:30 am at the Thai Buddhist Temple called Wat Buddahavanaram at 151 South Ave, in Sacramento, 95838 followed by a traditional Thai buffet. In lieu of flowers please donate to the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation, who Janet raised money for to help find a cure for others with her type of rare cancer.
